Given that this hike was nearly 3 months ago, I will let the photos tell the story of a lovely little walk Sarah & I did with our friend Linda. We were happy to see a fairly large number of late-season wildflowers blooming among the dry grasses covering the hillsides.

After our lovely hike at Lost Horse Mine, we decided it was about Beer O’Clock, so we found a nice turnout near Hidden Valley and walked over to an enticing boulder and enjoyed a brew and some cheese.

After a light breakfast we drove into Joshua Tree National Park and headed to the trailhead for the Lost Horse Mine. We hit the trail at 8:45 with only one other car in the parking area – sweet!
