Monarch: Thanks - I guess you don't mind the pic-heavy, long posts now that you have hi-speed 'net access, eh? :)

Aullori: You're too kind, but I'm glad you've enjoyed this series - there're another 3 days yet to come, but this was probably the most scenic day, and the one on which I took by far the most photographs.

Montucky: Thank you as always for the encouragement and kind words.

Mary: According to Google Maps, it's 97 miles from Pacific City to Florence. I wish we'd seen Tufted Puffins in the wild, as they do occur along the Oregon coast, but we only saw the ones in the Aquarium's aviary. I've only seen the Rhino Auklet there too, not in the wild, as they're usually fairly far offshore. You can find Black Oystercatchers and Brandt's Cormorants pretty reliably here in the SF area along the coast. I see both frequently at Sutro Baths (the ruins next to the Cliff House) in San Francisco.

Hi Adam - how many miles did you drive in this one day? Although I have seen Common Murres, Tufted Puffins, and Pigeon Guillemots in Glacier Bay, I have yet to see black oystercatchers, brant cormorants, and rhinoceros auklets. That would be so cool. I have never seen that many common murres perched in one spot like you did at Yaquina Head. Wow! I sure liked your Japanese Spider Crab and of course your sea otter. That looks like a beautiful coastal drive. Thanks for sharing it with us.

I have to completely agree - thanks for all the hard work it took to post this. I must admit I keep awaiting glancing at your trip photos and so far I haven't been disspointed. These shots are fabulous. (I'll take the time to get specific because after all you did! Consider it a way of saying thanks)

"Morning moon over Cape Kiwanda" Does a sky get any more blue than this? This is lovely!

"Looking north from Boiler Bay" I adore this shot... it really captures I think the real vast aspect of the ocean. This is (in my opinion) extreamly difficult to do via a camera (and I do not care what camera you have in your hand) really great shot Adam!

I do love the name Cape Foulweather, you gotta laugh at those creative souls, it ranks right up there with Cape Dissapointment. :)

I loved all the bird photos but really liked the Tufin Puffin. Maybe your mention forced me to take a second look however, I think it's the bird. He seems to be looking at the viewer like, "Oh gesh... not another boring human." I love those bird shots with attitude.

And lastly, tho you did a fabulous time of representing sea side communities my favorite shot is (drum roll please) "Japanese Spider Crab at the Oregon Coast Aquarium." I dunno... everything says don't mess with this guy.

These all were so wonderful! Thank you.
